5. Nala Oli Volunteer Handbook

   The Nala Oli Volunteer Handbook was developed as a basic health guide for ICPTH's community health workers, called Nala Oli Volunteers (NOVs). The Handbook presents the role of the NOV in ICPTH's programs, and provides an overview of basic health information, such as nutrition and reproductive health, and community health issues such as water and sanitation.

6. Oral Hygiene Proposal

   This study was conducted to understand the role that community health workers (CHWs) can play in diagnosing manifestations of impaired oral hygiene such as dental plaque, caries and gingivitis and validate their assessment through re-examination of the random sample by a certified dentist. The note discusses the background of oral healthcare in the developing world and establishes the importance of oral health and hygiene by citing research that reveals its links with other serious health conditions. The paper also explains the methodology adopted and the protocal followed for the study and includes details of the CHW training curriculum along with the schedule for training and the envisaged timeline of the Oral Hygiene Study.
